Welcome to Springfield Primary Academy

Hello and welcome to our website!

This is an exciting time for Springfield Primary Academy and I am delighted to be Head of School in such a vibrant and welcoming school, which has the potential to achieve great things.

As from the 1st of December 2018, the school converted to be part of the REAch2 Academy Trust. One of the benefits of this partnership will be the opportunity to work with good and outstanding schools, to look at the way that we do things and to think about how we can continue to improve outcomes for all our pupils.

At Springfield Academy we believe that partnerships are important; one of the most important partnerships being with the parents and carers of our pupils. We hope this website will provide you with all the information that you need about the school, what your child(ren) are learning and how you can support learning at home.

I look forward to working closely with members of our school community, the Academy Trust and outside agencies to realise our vision – to inspire futures and make memories.

Very best wishes,

Ms S Taylor Head of School

Welcome & Introduction from Tom Twort (Executive Headteacher)

11Th September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Executive Headteacher for Springfield Primary Academy and Moor Green Primary Academy.

I have really enjoyed my first two weeks working with the children and staff and am I grateful for the warm welcome I have received from parents and carers when I have seen you at the beginning or end of the school day.

Our vision as a school this year and beyond is simple: To become the number one school of choice for the local community.

A key factor in achieving that vision will be our new school building and refurbishment project. We have been informed that work will begin on Monday 21st September. This is a massive project which will result in your children having first class facilities for learning.

However, it will present challenges and will mean that we need to make changes to the timings, entrances and exits for the drop off and collection of your children. Details will be communicated to you next week.

I would like to thank you for continuing to support social distancing on the school site and for your patience as we ensure that children are dismissed safely.

It is important to make clear that Ms Taylor will remain as Head of School and will continue to be responsible for the day to day running of the school. I will be working with Ms Taylor, and the skilled and dedicated staff team, to ensure every child receives the best possible education and extra-curricular experiences in their time at Springfield.

We are committed to providing a high standard of teaching and learning to enable all children to reach their potential and achieve strong academic outcomes. We are equally committed to ensuring all children leave Springfield at the end of Year 6 as confident, wellrounded individuals, well equipped for the challenges of secondary school and beyond.

I look forward to getting to know you and to working together over the coming weeks and months.

Yours sincerely,

Mr T. Twort
